Norway: Seven companies apply for production licences in Norway s 25th licensing round

Norway s Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has announced that seven companies have applied for production licenses in the 25th licensing round on the Norwegian shelf. The 25th licensing round comprises nine areas outside the APA area on the Norwegian shelf and includes one area in the Norwegian Sea and eight in the Barents Sea.

UK: Hibiscus Petroleum acquires 85 percent interest in the Eagle field from EnQuest 25 Feb 2021 Anasuria Hibiscus UK ( AHUK ) has executed a Sale & Purchase Agreement ( SPA ) with EnQuest in respect of certain interests in the UK Continental Shelf Petroleum Production Licence Number P238 Block 21/19a, Eagle Pre-Producing Area ( Eagle Field ). The Eagle Field is located approx. 6.4 km to 15 km from various Anasuria facilities, and due to its proximity, facilitates a potential subsea tie back to the Anasuria FPSO which could extend the latter’s economic life. Under the terms of the SPA, the consideration for AHUK’s acquisition of 85% in the Eagle Field from EnQuest is a nominal USD1 due to EnQuest on SPA completion plus the the cost representing AHUK’s carry of EnQuest’s remaining 15% from completion of the SPA through to first oil. Date Time Sth Gippsland Water Korumburra Update Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) will continue to monitor wastewater discharges from South Gippsland Water’s (SGW) Korumburra treatment plant to Foster Creek as the plant returns to normal operations. The plant has been experiencing processing problems leading to the discharge of partially treated water to the creek above the limit set by its licence. “The plant’s processing capacity is returning to normal and EPA officers have been regularly monitoring the creek downstream of Korumburra for potential pollution issues and that will continue,’ said EPA State Agency Commander Jessica Bandiera. “South Gippsland Water must still ensure any discharged waste water is within its licence limit.”

UK: TWMA secures first contract with Spirit Energy at Grove field 25 Feb 2021 TWMA, has secured a seven-figure contract with leading exploration and production company, Spirit Energy. The first scope of a five-year contract will see TWMA provide drilling waste management services on the harsh-environment jack-up rig Maersk Resolve as Spirit Energy drills the Grove North East well in the Southern Sector of the North Sea. The rig, currently in Denmark, will mobilise to the UK in Q2 2021. The contract, which carries the option of two one-year extensions, marks TWMA’s first project with the E&P company and includes the full breadth of the company’s services lines.
